WebApr 4, 2012 · My 289 has raced B/Prod running up to 7500 rpm, but I have forged pistons, stock crank and rods, clevite full grooved main bearings, high volume oil pump, isky valve springs (single with damper), aluminum retainers and titanium keepers, I run the maximum clearances recommended by Ford Muscle Parts, and 20w-50 racing oil. Only difference is they use aluminum heads and run 10.5:1 compression. You should be able to get 350 HP with ported 289 heads.
