Trek/Gary Fisher and made a ton of improvements in the 2011 model which will run circles around the 2008 and 2009. It rides and handles like a bike that is much more expensive yet they have kept the price down to a level that more folks can handle.

Just to level set, the first frame is a medium (17") and ridden by a 180lb rider on light XC riding (no big drops, etc). The second is a large (19") frame ridden by a 190lb rider on same type of riding. WebThe 2010 HiFi is a really well balanced trail bike. I've been on a Fisher Rig since 2008 and really like the steering of the G2 front. The HiFi is perfect for the Colorado front range, enough travel for techy trails but still can hang with the xc racer crowd. EX frame is a little beefier, more raked feel. The Hifi is more of a dialed in high travel XC rig. Great geometry, XC feel, but more travel.
