WebSilica shows a slight weight loss as a function of temperature, without any sharp degradation step, as indicated by the absence of peaks in the DTG curve. This weight loss (about 0.5% at 600 °C) can be attributed to the condensation of surface hydroxyl groups of silica with the release of water.
