They are not compatible with each other and Desktop is mandatory if you want to play the EA Play games you get with the Xbox Gamepass PC... Origin's Integration works fine but there is no integration of EA Desktop in GOG Galaxy … WebNot sure, how it's with Playnite, but the final nail in the coffin for Galaxy 2.0, is having a big library across all platforms. For my games library, it takes minutes to load the launcher properly EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. And that's on a SSD, because the reason is the platform sync. Not sure, why it's not cached and done silently in the background.

Playnite is already the most comprehensive app of its kind and my recent discovery of Playnite's Xbox support is icing on the cake.
